Beginning Doumbek – Intro to Middle Eastern Drumming

Tuesdays 8:00pm at m’illumino

Become one with your music! A great way to expand your dance knowledge is by learning Middle Eastern drumming on the doumbek, the goblet-shaped drum of Egypt.  Don’t have a drum? There are several local shops where you can snag one. Try Guitar Center, Dusty Strings, or Trading Musician. While doumbeks are preferred, frame drums, riqs/tambourines are also suitable.

The fabulous Jane Hall of local band “House of Tarab” will be our guide through the joys of doumbek technique and foundation rhythms of Middle Eastern dance. REGISTER NOW
