How long have you been studying bellydance? 3 months

When did you first see bellydance? What were your first impressions?

I don’t remember the first time I saw bellydance but I remember that I loved watching it from that first moment and so badly wanted to dance with them.
What motivated you to finally take your first bellydance class?
I’ve wanted to learn for years but I don’t like trying new things by myself. A friend of mine mentioned that she was taking a bellydance class and out of curiosity I asked about it and she told me that I should come dance with her. She’s been to one class and I’m still dancing…

What was your first class like?

Fun!! I was a bit nervous at first but that was gone after a few minutes.
In what ways do you think you have changed or benefited as a result of taking bellydance classes?

I am learning to stop over-thinking what I’m doing and just let my body move.  (I am) learning that even when its difficult and I don’t grasp a move right away, that I love this dance and I can’t wait until the day I can perform!

What is your favorite move or concept you have learned so far and why?

My favs are anything slow. You really get to see how the body is moving and its gorgeous.
Any advice for other students who are just starting out?

Have fun with it, try not to get frustrated when you can’t do something right away or do it perfectly, and practice, practice, practice.

Any other thoughts to share?

I wish I started dancing years ago!

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, Brandy!
